Newport, RI's oldest estate neighborhood and lead-free

Newport, Rhode Island's classic colonial homes are gorgeous, but homes built before 1978 can require expensive updates to ensure their healthy livability. Although it looks much older by design, Linden Cottage, built in 1980 in the "Top of the Hill" historic estate neighborhood, does not have one ounce of lead-based paint.

Suburban living at its best, a rich history nestled in Newport's diverse population, idyllic neighborhoods with parks, playgrounds, and beaches, all within easy commuter distance to Boston and Providence for working parents.

Gibbs Avenue is a wide tree-lined street, where Newport residents jog, ride bikes, and walk babies and pets. K-8 children safely walk to private St. Michael's Country Day school only a block away and St. George's School tower across the pond is visible from our front door.

Ideally situated two blocks either way from the beach or Bellevue Avenue shopping, relaxing in the secret garden of Linden Cottage offers the feeling of country life, secluded from the hustle and bustle of the Newport summer. Yet, the distant reveille first call from the US Navy base can be heard every morning at 8 a.m. sharp, and on a sleepy summer Sunday afternoon, the birds compete with the familiar music of the folk and jazz festivals wafting across the harbor from Fort Adams.
